How I can help

What naturopathic nutritional therapy can help with

Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.

Hippocrates

I work with clients on a wide range of concerns. Below are a few examples of common issues I encounter in my practice.

01

Digestive issues

Bloating. Irregular bowel movements. That heavy feeling two hours after eating. Food repeating, indigestion. These are examples, and signals, and they are worth listening to properly. Effective digestion helps your body to breakdown food, extract nutrients and absorb them. This is the corner stone of health.

02

Immunity

Immune resilience is built and maintained. Nutrient status, gut health, sleep and stress load all feed into it, and all of them respond. Sometimes extra support is needed before the cold season, after a period of ill health, or simply when you feel run down.

03

Weight management

Not another restriction plan. We look at blood sugar, sleep, stress and what your week genuinely looks like, and then adjust. On GLP-1 drugs? We can discuss managing side effects you may be experiencing (example: gut motility, skin elasticity). Wanting to gain weight? We can also discuss what steps would be beneficial for you.

04

Skin health

Skin issues often reflect something happening elsewhere, such as the gut bacteria balance, the lymphatic system or the hormonal balance. We start by finding out the contributory factors to which conditions are presented; boils, break outs, itching, eczema, psoriasis etc.

05

Respiratory health

Tickling or chesty cough, long lasting cough, congested sinuses, let food be your medicine and help support your immune resilience, and ease the dietary and environmental triggers that keep airways irritated through the year.

06

Healthy ageing

Energy levels, cognition and memory, bone health, joints mobility. The choices that protect and nurture them are the ones you make now, and every day.

Cholesterol levels sometimes become unbalanced in midlife. Nutritional therapy supports you to help keep healthy levels.

07

Stress resilience

Stress resilience is the body and mind's ability to adapt to daily pressure, and maintain balance during challenging times. I have seen many mums and professionals, for example, seeking support to deal with high stress and to avoid or recover from the chronic burnout and anxieties that may occur.

High stress uses up vital nutrients and raises stress hormones like cortisol. It impacts various body systems, sleep and emotions. Nourishing the nervous system, supporting healthy dietary choices and lifestyle are some of the ways naturopathic nutritional therapy can help.

Sports nutrition

You don't need to be an Olympic athlete to benefit from nutritional support. Some people may struggle to gain muscle, recover after exercise, or recover from injuries. Activities such as working out, stretching, running and lifting weights are good for keeping fit, which is an important part of being and feeling healthy.

There is certainly a lot of information, sometimes correct, sometimes not, sometimes conflicting, on the best supplements, on what to eat and drink, and at which times. Book a session to dispel the myths, and learn how to support your physical workout.

Health MOT

Do you wonder what you could tweak or improve in your journey to nutritional health? Have you been told 'everything looks fine' but still feel something is not? Sometimes we delay looking at aspects of our own health, and want to investigate further.

A health MOT would include a thorough questionnaire, perhaps a test where it makes sense, and a bespoke nutrition strategy to support your goals.

More on each of these in Notes from the clinic.

Who I work with

Support for every stage of life

Consultations are by video or phone call, so wherever you are in the UK, we can work together.

Adults

Digestive discomfort, low energy, skin that will not settle, or simply wanting to feel better in yourself. We start with what matters most to you.

Children and families

Fussy eating, tummy troubles or concentration at school. Practical, family-friendly changes that work around real mealtimes.

Busy professionals

Long days, stress and meals on the go. A plan built around your diary, not an ideal week you never actually have.

Midlife and beyond

Energy, sleep, bone and heart health, and the changes that come with each decade. Nourishing choices for the years ahead.

Common questions

Can you help with…?

Some of the questions I am asked most often about what nutritional therapy can and cannot do.

Is this a replacement for medical care?

No. It sits alongside medical care and does not replace it. I will always encourage you to stay in touch with your GP, and if something needs medical attention rather than nutritional support, I will say so.

Can nutritional therapy help with my concern?

Every person is different, so I never promise a result. What I can do is look at the whole picture and suggest changes to food and lifestyle that support your body. On the free discovery call we can talk about whether this approach is right for you.

Do you work with children?

Yes. I support children and families as well as adults, with practical changes that work around real mealtimes.

Not sure if I can help?

Ask me. The discovery call is free and there is no obligation.
